DAZN, a UK-based sports streaming service, recently opened a new technology Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Hyderabad focusing on sports streaming technologies. The company intends to invest INR 1,000 crore over the next five years in order to increase its headcount to roughly 4,500 by then. It has made an initial investment of INR 222 crore in its India Development Centre (IDC), which plans to employ 1,000 people by December 2023 and 2,500 by the end of December 2024. The CoE, DAZN’s first in India and fifth globally after London, Leeds, Amsterdam, and Poland, has launched in HiTec City with over 350 employees in a 900-seater facility covering across 1 lakh sq ft. The emergence of sophisticated streaming technologies, as well as innovations in AI, computer vision, augmented reality (AR), virtual reality (VR), and wearable technology, according to Sandeep Tiku, CTO, DAZN Group, have the potential to bring live sports to fans in ways they have never experienced before. The incredible technological talent pool in Hyderabad and across India will substantially assist the company in delivering high-quality streaming and incredible fan engagement, he added. |
