The year 2023 unfolded as a flourishing period for the
Indian Exhibition Industry. HITEX, as a significant
player in the sector, also garnered remarkable success
for its own shows and as a venue provider for
industry-relevant shows and events. In this backdrop, we
take the privilege to announce the launch of our
well-equipped Hall 4 which is certified as a
Platinum-grade in facility.

Interim Budget 2024 Charts a Green Path
In the Interim Budget 2024, Union Finance Minister
Nirmala Sitharaman emphasized a significant boost to
spiritual and island tourism in India. She proposed
increased infrastructure and connectivity for domestic
tourism on islands, particularly highlighting
Lakshadweep. Encouraging comprehensive development of
iconic tourist centers, Sitharaman says that it is
important to brand and market them globally.

Beyond the Bell Program
The 16th edition of the HITEX Hyderabad Kids’ Fair was
highly successful in its pursuit of being more than just
an event to entertain children and families. With a
string of activities, games, workshops, arts & crafts,
competitions, role-plays, music, shopping, and fun
rides, the fair was a true Christmas gift for the
attendees who took along with them joy and
lasting memories.

The ART of CUSTOMER RETENTION
Ranked as Asia’s third-largest trade fair market,
India’s exhibition sector has undergone a significant
transformation. Globalization, tech, and Government
initiatives have made it a major commercial platform.
The sector has strong potential and is expected to reach
US$ 5.23 billion in 2024 and rise 8.31 percent to US$
7.80 billion by 2029.

SOTC Travel Applauds Budget’s Strategic Boost to Indian
Tourism
The Hon’ble Finance Minister’s interim budget for
maintaining tax status quo and ensuring a neutral impact
is applauded by Vishal Suri, Managing Director, SOTC
Travel Ltd, a premier travel agency in India. The
Government’s strategic approach to travel and tourism
involves infrastructure development, green energy, and
sustainability, with a targeted focus on each segment:
aviation, waterways, and rail, enhancing regional
connectivity to Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities.

UFI Releases 2023 World Map of Venue Capacities
UFI, the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry,
released an updated and extended World Map of Exhibition
Venues, revealing 1,425 venues with 42.1 million sq mt.
China has the most venues, followed by US and Germany.
In collaboration with Cologne-based consultant jwc GmbH,
the research lists the largest venues for all 21 markets
with a gross indoor exhibition area of over 300,000 sq
mt.
